SMAC’s Dance and Cheer Teams are the face of Sound Movement Arts Center in the community with opportunities to perform at local community events, attend conventions and compete!
SMAC is looking for a few more kids and teens to complete our Teams! Will you be the next Move Crew member? Love to Dance or Cheer? No experience required. Open to boys and girls. Students will be taught a series of short combinations that include: Jazz, Hip Hop and Cheer choreography at tryouts. Please arrive warmed-up, tryouts will begin promptly at the start time listed. Students should wear form fitting dance or cheer clothing and appropriate shoes. Girls hair should be off of face in a clean high ponytail. Bring Jazz shoes (or ballet slippers or socks) and sneakers to tryouts. The Dance Team is separate from the Cheer Team.

The Move Crew Dance & Cheer Teams are the face of Sound Movement Arts Center in our community with opportunities to perform at local events.
Sound Movement Arts Center staff have put together the following informational packet for each family to understand the financial and time commitment it takes to be a part of SMAC’s Dance and Cheer Teams. Please remember that Dance and Cheer are Team Activities and every member of a team depends on every member’s participation.
*Once offered a place on a Team, a Team Agreement will be sent out. This needs to be looked over by both parent and child, completed and turned in by July 1st, to hold your child’s place on a Team. The agreement is for the entire 2017-2018 Season (July 2017-June 2018).
Summer 2017 Requirements:
Dance & Cheer Teams (Choreography) Camp – August 14-18th. NEW DATE! Times TBA.
Dance Team: Dance Camp – July 24-28, 2017 – 9am-12pm
Cheer Team: Acro, Cheer & Tumbling Camp – August 14-18, 2017 – 9am-12pm
*Additional camps are STRONGLY encouraged. **These are required for team, so that they don’t loose their skills over a 2 month break after Recital and before Fall classes.

Minis (4-7) – Monthly Tuition: 2.5 hours (plus, 1 FREE hour!) – $110/month (normally 3.5 classes = $139/month)
Juniors (8-11) – Monthly Tuition: 4 hours (plus, 1 FREE hour!) – $135/month (normally 5 classes = $156/month)
Teens (12+) – Monthly Tuition: 4 hours (plus, 1 FREE hour!) – $135/month (normally 5 classes = $156/month)
Plus, Dance Team Fee – $600.00. This fee INCLUDES the Team Camp, 2 Team Costumes, Team Jacket and Leggings. Shoes, tights and accessories are not included in this fee. *Jackets & Leggings will be worn to ALL community events, performances, conventions & competitions. They will get a lot of use. **If students are returning to Team and already have the Jacket and Leggings, they will NOT need to get new one’s. Their fee’s will reflect this.
Cheer Team (8+) – Monthly Tuition: 3 hours (plus, 1 FREE hour!) – $115/month (normally 4 classes = $135/month)
Plus, Cheer Team Fee – $600.00. This fee INCLUDES the Cheer Team Camp, 2 Team Costumes, Team Jacket and Team Sneakers. Tights/socks, bows and accessories are not included in this fee. *Jackets will be worn to ALL community events, performances, conventions & competitions. They will get a lot of use. **If students are returning to Team and already have the Jacket, they will NOT need to get new one’s. Their fee’s will reflect this.
**THESE FEES DO NOT INCLUDE CONVENTION AND COMPETITION FEES.
Convention fees are approximately $200-$300. Competition fees will vary depending on the number of dances your dancer is performing in. Group fees are approximately $40-$60 per person.
**ALL FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE**
We require team members to be on Auto Pay and have a valid credit card number on file with the studio.
*Please note that most dates/events are still to be confirmed for the 2017-2018 season. This is to give you an idea of the types of events we attend and tentative dates during our season.
